A method for transmitting data between a mobile communication device and a server. The method includes running a mobile application on the mobile communication device. The mobile application is hosted on the mobile communication device through the server as a Software as a Service (SaaS). The method further includes transmitting data associated with the mobile application between the mobile communication device and the server, in which transmission of the data between the mobile communication device and the server is monitored through the server.

1. A secure element comprising a secure element memory configured to maintain a near field communication (NFC) application and transaction data;
a secure element processor configured to imitate, in response to a near field communication interaction of the secure element with the point-of-sale terminal using a transceiver capable of near field communications, execution of the NFC application in wherein the NFC application operates above the physical communication layer; a plurality of communications transceiver and wherein each of the communications transceivers support a respective communications protocol and wherein one of the plurality of communications transceiver is configured for NFC and one is configured to transmit transaction data to the NFC terminal, wherein the transaction data is transmitted upon execution of the NFC application without communication with the mobile device processor, wherein the secure element is coupled to a mobile device comprising a mobile device memory, a mobile device processor, and a mobile device transceiver.
