The present invention provides a system for providing a scrap service for printed media using a pen-type digital scanner capable of scanning an image in part of a scrap document which is a part of a printed media that a user want to scrap and transmitting the scanned image. The system includes: a document search database in which, with regard to document identifiers of scrap documents allocated to the scrap documents, document search data including content data of the scrap documents and the position data of document images of the scrap documents are stored; and a document image database in which the document images of the scrap documents are store. The system also includes: an image receiving module (101) which receives a scanned image of a scrap document that a user wants to scrap scanned by a pen-type digital scanner through a communication network; a text recognition module (102) which recognizes the received scanned image as text and converts the recognized result into a character string; a document matching search module (103) which searches the document search database, extracts document identifiers of scrap documents including the converted character string as content data, arranges the extracted document identifiers based on a user identifier of a certain user, and generates and stores scrap data for the certain user; and a scrap document service module (104) which extracts and transmits a list of document identifiers of scrap documents from the scrap data of the certain user according to a request from the certain user through the communication network, searches for document images of the scrap documents from the document image database, and transmits the document images to a user terminal. |
