<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sensitivity of a test apparatus and an electrooptic LC material and the performance of them in a service life.SOLUTION: An electrooptical modulator assembly includes a sensor layer formed of an electrooptical modulator material including liquid crystal liquid droplets encapsulated by a polymer matrix. A material of the sensor layer contains an amount of surfactant such as defoaming agent enough to stepdown an operating voltage specific for transmitting light through the sensor layer. The defoaming agent contains the electrooptical modulator material of approximately 1 to 10 wt.%, and may contain a reactive component reacting with the polymer matrix which is at least any of, for example, siloxane having a reactive terminal group, reactivity polymer fluoride, or nonionic block copolymer. The assembly may further include a hard coating layer for protecting the sensor layer.</p> |
