<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube which is excellently dispersed in a resin.SOLUTION: A carbon nanotube assembly includes a plurality of carbon nanotubes, in which a ratio R of a dimension L along a longitudinal direction to a dimension S along a direction vertical to the longitudinal direction is 5-300, and L is 50-2,000 nm and S is 3-60 nm. A production method includes: an acid treatment step to make a carbon nanotube raw material assembly irradiated with a supersonic wave in a state in which the raw material assembly is brought into contact with an acid so as to form a carboxyl group on the carbon nanotube; a carbon nanotube containing solution preparing step to prepare the carbon nanotube containing solution with the carboxyl group formed thereon; a salt generating step to convert the carboxylic group into an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt; an addition step to add an additive which is a poorer solvent than a first liquid to the carbon nanotube containing solution; and a precipitation step to precipitate the carbon nanotube assembly in the carbon nanotube containing solution.</p> |
