Provided is a method for accessing an application server. The method comprises: acquiring an IP address or server domain name for accessing an application server from an access point list; initiating an access to the application server using the acquired IP address or server domain name; and after the access to the application server succeeds, updating the access point list, so as to store an IP address issued by the application server according to a load balancing strategy in a blank entry of the access point list. By performing load balancing at an application server side according to the characteristics of an application program, the method provided in the embodiments of the present invention improves the success rate of access by a user.
