<p>The present invention relates to the field of communication systems. Disclosed are a cell management method and system, wherein a mapping between a cell and a sector is established during configuration of the cell, and some management of the cell is implemented through management of the sector by using the mapping, thereby improving flexibility of cell management. The sector is distinguished based on the location, and the location of the cell can be determined based on the sector; therefore, the cell can be dynamically managed, a frequency band can be dynamically configured for the cell, and an identification (ID) of the cell may not be changed after reallocation of the frequency band, which facilitates a location service based on the cell or facilitates planning of the cell based on the location, simplifies the establishment and maintenance of a neighboring relationship, and reduces the service interruption that may occur during handover.</p> |
