The holding device has a holding plate (1) for holding a toothed belt (9). The holding plate has a window section (2), and transverse webs (3,4) which are formed to divide the window section into the windows (5-7). The toothed belt with a toothed rib side (11) is cross-inserted around the transverse web (4), such that the transverse web lies between two toothed ribs (12) of toothed belt.
