PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error notification device capable of notifying, when an error occurs in an apparatus to be managed, only a communication terminal of a user who is likely to eliminate an error of the occurrence of the error in the apparatus to be managed; and an image forming apparatus that has a function of the error notification device.SOLUTION: An error notification device registers in advance areas in association with the types of errors, and notifies, when an error occurs in an apparatus to be managed, communication terminals in the area registered in association with the type of the error of the occurrence of the error in the apparatus to be managed.
