<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high reliability and high stability alkali metal cell at a low cost.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an alkali metal cell includes the steps of: bonding a first transparent substrate 121 to one surface of a substrate 110; forming a first bonding metal layer 151 on a projection 112 on the other surface of the substrate or in a region of one surface of a second transparent substrate 122 corresponding to the projection; bonding the second transparent substrate to the other surface of the substrate by means of the first bonding metal layer formed on an edge of the substrate; generating an alkali metal from a compound 140 including the alkali metal to diffusely supply the alkali metal from one of a plurality of openings to the others; and subsequently to the supply of the alkali metal to the other openings, heating a second bonding metal layer 152 disposed around the openings and a metal spacer to bond the second transparent substrate to a recessed surface of the substrate around the openings.</p> |
