摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-coated cutting tool which includes a hard coating layer exhibiting excellent chipping resistance and wear resistance in high speed intermittent cutting.SOLUTION: In the surface-coated cutting tool in which a Ti compound layer and an AlOlayer are formed, a crystal grain of the AlOlayer satisfies the following (a) and (b): (a) an inclination angle formed by a normal of a (11-20) face of the crystal grain with respect to a normal Z of a surface-polishing surface has maximum peak in an inclination angle division of 0-10 degrees, and a frequency rate existing in the inclination angle division is 45% or more; and (b) an inclination angle formed by the normal of a (0001) face of the crystal grain is measured with respect to the optional direction X orthogonal to the normal Z of the surface-polishing surface, and the direction Y orthogonal to any of the normal Z and this X, and the maximum peak exists in any of an inclination angle frequency distribution graph in the direction X and the direction Y, and a frequency rate existing in a ±5 degrees division with the maximum peak as the center, is 45% or more, and an angular difference of the inclination angle division of the maximum peak in the inclination angle frequency distribution graph in the direction X and the direction Y, is within ±5 degrees.
