PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bidirectional recording stimulating electrode and a brain activity recording system capable of performing detection of brain activity information and stimulation to a brain at the same time.SOLUTION: An ECoG (an electrocorticogram) electrode 100 comprises: a thin film shaped electrode 112 formed on a flexible substrate 102, and for detecting a cortex brain wave signal generated in a brain of a living organism; and an LED light source 114 implemented on the flexible substrate 102, and for irradiating light to the brain.
