A variable valve device equipped with: a drive shaft member (2) that rotates synchronously with a crankshaft provided in an internal combustion engine; a camshaft member (3) having a cam lobe (3a) and provided rotatably around the drive shaft member (2); a driving arm unit (4) that is provided on the drive shaft member (2) and rotates together with the drive shaft member; a control sleeve (8) provided with an eccentric hole (8a), with the drive shaft member (2) being inserted into the eccentric hole (8a), and the control sleeve being arranged such that the position of the central axis of the eccentric hole (8a) can be changed; and a drive disc (5-2), which includes a driving-side disc (5a) linked to the driving arm unit (4) and a driven-side disc (5b) linked to the camshaft member (3), and which rotates along the inner circumferential wall surface of the eccentric hole (8a). The drive disc (5-2) rotates with the driving-side disc (5a) and the driven-side disc (5b) being fixed to each other, and the relative positions of the driving-side disc (5a) and the driven-side disc (5b) around the central axial line are changeable. |
