The present invention addresses the problem of providing a surgical instrument that reduces the variety of surgical instruments used during surgery and that makes it possible to reduce the burden on patients and health care professionals who are involved in surgery. This surgical instrument comprises a pair of working sections that are connected so as to be capable of opening and closing around an axis of rotation. The surgical instrument is characterized in that the working sections comprise a cutting section that cuts a target object by sliding a pair of blades against each other, a pair of gripping surfaces that grip the target object when the pair of working sections is closed, and a pair of detaching sections that are formed so as to be capable of detaching living tissue when the pair of working sections is opened. |
