<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which enables proper insertion of a coated optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical connector 1 includes: a ferrule 10 for holding a built-in fiber F; a mechanical splice section 12 which is coupled to a rear end section of the ferrule 10 to couple the built-in fiber F with a glass fiber 7 face to face; a wedge member 14 mounted on the mechanical splice section 12; a plug frame 16 which accommodates the ferrule 10; a spring 18 though which the mechanical splice section 12 is inserted; and a stop ring 20 through which the mechanical splice section 12 is inserted and which limits movement of the spring 18 by touching a rear end of the spring 18. A rear end 12a of the mechanical splice section 12 is located posterior to a rear end 20a of the stop ring 20.</p> |
