PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external parasite control agent for animals and a method for preventing or treating parasite infection of animals using the control agent.SOLUTION: By having a 5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-pyridyl group at the 1-position of a piperidine ring and comprising, as an active ingredient, a certain compound having a pyrazole group at the 4-position through an oxygen atom, an external parasite control agent for animals expressing excellent insecticidal activity and a method for preventing or treating parasite infection of animals using the control agent are obtained.
