Disclosed are an object identification device, etc., whereby an identification error is reduced with respect to a reference image which presents an object which differs by only a slight amount from an object which is presented in an inputted image. The object identification device comprises: a local feature value comparison unit which computes geometric transform information from coordinates in a reference image to corresponding coordinates in an inputted image, and compares a local feature value which is extracted from the reference image with a local feature value which is extracted from the inputted image; an inputted image difference region determination unit which transforms a difference region in the reference image and determines a difference region in the inputted image which corresponds to the difference region in the reference image, on the basis of the geometric transform information for the inputted image which is assessed as matching in the comparison; an inputted image difference region feature value extraction unit which corrects the difference region in the inputted image and extracts a characteristic value from the difference region of the corrected inputted image; and a feature value comparison unit which compares the feature value which is extracted by the inputted image difference region feature value extraction unit with the feature value which is extracted from the difference region in the reference image, and outputs the result of the comparison. |
