The transmission control method comprises: a network-side device generating discontinuous transmission (DTX) sleep indication information, the DTX sleep indication information being used for identifying the start time of entering a sleep state each time and the time duration in the sleep state of the network-side device in the process of executing DTX (101); and the network-side device sending the DTX sleep indication information to a user equipment (UE) in a cell to which the network-side device belongs, so as to enable the UE to suspend the data processing and/or transmission of the UE when the network-side device is in the sleep state according to the DTX sleep indication information (102). Using the technical solution of the present invention can reduce the waste of the electric quantity of a UE.
