CONDENSED SACCHARIFICATION LIQUID PRODUCTION METHOD

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a production method for a condensed saccharification liquid that uses a lignocellulosic biomass as the raw material therefor, said method comprising a preprocessing method that: removes lignin and degradation products thereof contained in a saccharification liquid; and is capable of reducing the load of a saccharification liquid condensation step. This production method: filters a saccharification liquid obtained by hydrolyzing a cellulosic biomass, using a membrane separation device comprising a separation membrane having a molecular weight cut-off of 1,000-7,000; then supplies the saccharification liquid to a reverse osmosis membrane device; and condenses the saccharification liquid. As a result of this kind of membrane treatment, saccharides having a low molecular weight contained in the saccharification liquid are transferred to the filtrate, and lignin and degradation products thereof having a high molecular weight are drained from the membrane separation device as condensed liquid. As a result of the present invention, loss of saccharides contained in the saccharification liquid can be prevented and fouling of the reverse osmosis membrane used to condense the saccharification liquid can be easily prevented.
