The present invention provides a liquid crystal display which can prevent the occurrence of a malfunction even if lamination displacement of substrates occurs and is favorable to higher definition. The present invention is a liquid crystal display provided with a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and second substrates. The first substrate includes an interlayer insulating film in which a plurality of openings are formed on the same straight line, the interlayer insulating film includes a plurality of curved portions each having a curved upper surface section, each of the plurality of curved portions is located between two adjacent openings, the second substrate includes a spacer facing at least one of the plurality of curved portions, and with a direction parallel to the straight line as a first direction and a direction orthogonal to the first direction as a second direction, the spacer is longer in the first direction than in the second direction. |
