<p>The invention relates to a method by which, in a fluid, e.g. blood, the amount or the partial pressure of a first gas, e.g. oxygen, that can be taken up by the fluid, and the amount or the partial pressure of a second gas, e.g. carbon dioxide, that is able to accumulate in the fluid, can simultaneously be brought to predetermined values. In order to adjust the amounts/partial pressures of the two gases, the fluid is conveyed past one side of at least one permeable or semipermeable separating layer, and a process gas is conveyed past the other side, wherein the process gas contains the first gas and is able to take up the second gas. The process gas is guided in a closed gas circuit. In the gas circuit, the first gas, on the one hand, is supplied to the process gas, and, on the other hand, the amount of the second gas that passes through the at least one separating layer from the fluid into the process gas, and that is taken up by the process gas, is removed from the process gas by means of an absorber unit. The amount of the first gas in the fluid is adjusted by changing the pressure of the process gas, and the amount of the second gas in the fluid is adjusted by changing the flow velocity of the process gas in the gas circuit.</p> |
