PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush-type contact material with which a more smooth sliding action can be performed and which is relatively simplified, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: In a brush-type contact material including one or more curved metallic claws of which the distal end portions are brought into contact with an object to be contacted, the distal end portion of the claw has an arcuate shape on a cross section in a thickness direction and is molded in such a manner that a curvature radius R1 from a contact point with the object to be contacted to a front side and a curvature radius R2 from the contact point to a rear side satisfy R1≥R2. Further, both end portions of the claw in a width direction are chamfered. In such a case, it is preferable that R1>R2 is satisfied and R1/R2 is less than 3.0. |
