Information providing method and mobile terminal therefor

An information providing method using a mobile terminal is provided. A corresponding mobile terminal is also disclosed. The method includes placing the mobile terminal within a communication range of a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device which is registered in the mobile terminal, receiving identification information from the BLE device, extracting previously set notification information corresponding to the received identification information, and outputting a notification message based on the extracted notification information. In an alternative embodiment the method may include detecting a Bluetooth Low Energy, BLE, device previously registered in the mobile terminal, receiving identification information from the BLE device, and displaying a notification message corresponding to the received identification information of the BLE device, wherein the notification message is previously set by a user.
