[Also in Group VI] A sewage tank with an inlet 13, Fig. 1, and outlet 14 has a quick acting valve 18 positioned in the air inlet pipe 20 connected via pipes 21, 28, Figs. 1, 2 to a series of air diffuser tubes 31 (see Group VI), the arrangement being such that the tubes 31 can be opened rapidly to atmosphere causing quick collapse of the flexible porous outer member of each tube against its inner rigid member and thus dislodging solid matter accumulated on the outer member. The pipe 21 is pivotally connected at 22 to the pipe 20 and an elbow 17 of the pipe 20 is pivoted to the tank to permit the pipes 20, 21 to be swung out of the tank. A bumper guard 25 is provided.</p> |
