Machine for cracking a connecting rod having a small end and a big end, into a rod part (1001) and a cap part (1002), said machine comprising:
positioning elements (11, 23, 24) for positioning said connecting rod in a position for cracking; and
an expandable element (3) arranged to be inserted into a bore in said big end of the connecting rod so as to allow for splitting of said connecting rod into a rod part and a cap part by expanding said expandable element.
The machine can comprise a moveable part with a first carriage (21) and a second carriage (22) which is movable with regard to said first carriage (21). The machine can be arranged to accommodate for different kinds of connecting rods. The machine can include positioning elements with outlets for cleansing fluid. The expandable element can be actuated by an electro press. |
