Use of octanohydroxamic acid in hair styling formulations

Use of hydroxamic acids, preferably octanehydroxamic acid in hair compositions for improving the curl retention properties, fixability or its manageability of human hair and hair bodies, and increasing hair filling, hair volume and hair elasticity, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a hair formulation comprising the hydroxamic acid, one or more cationic polymers and one or more cationic surfactants.
