[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [Also in Group XV] Caulking.-The tip 2 of a ball-point pen is formed with a part-spherical base seating c for 'the ball by first shaping the base of the ballreceiving. bore like an inverted three-sided pyramid as by means of a punch and then pressing the ball therein to form a part-spherical depression in each face of the pyramid. The sides of the tip 2 are then deformed by pressure with a tool shaped as shown in Fig. 3 so that the internal surface of the tip conforms as shown to the shape of the ball.</p> |
