Decorative thermosetting resin laminates, e.g. for use as table-tops, are provided on an exposed surface with a network of fine ribs 1 to protect the surface from abrasion, e.g. by crockery. The ribs, which may be 0.1-0.3 mm. high, are formed by using a grooved pressure plate in the hot-pressing operation in which the laminate is formed from sheets of resin-impregnated paper. |
