Class 20(3) An arrangement. for automatically controlling movement of a window pane 4 particularly for a motor vehicle 2, closable by completing an electric circuit controlling a pane-operating device 5, comprises a strip 17 in the window frame 3 yieldable in the direction of movement of the pane 4 and engageable by the pane in the closed position, the strip 17 being adapted to interrupt the circuit and arrest the operating device 5 when caused to yield by the edge of the closing pane 4 or another object such as part of a passenger's body. As shown, the strip 17 extends fully across the window opening 18 and is loaded by springs 20 between it and the edge 19 of the frame 3 to bear against abutments 21, 22 which are constructed as electrical contacts bridged by the strip 17. The circuit is completed by a control switch 16 to a source of current 15 and an electro magnetic valve 11 which controls the pane moving device 5. The valve 11 is connected to the oil circulation system of a servo installation including a pump 12 and pressure pipe 13 and the oil is supplied by a pipe 10 through joint 9 to a cylinder 8 having its piston rod 7 articulated to the pane-moving means 5 to lift the pane 4 against the pressure of a spring 6. The pane moving means 5 are stated to be of known kind. To open the window, under control of the valve 11, oil can flow from cylinder 8 through a return pipe 14. The valve 11 is constructed to have three possible positions under the control of a three way switch 16, to allow lifting of the pane, pane remaining in a given position and opening of the pane. The strip 17 may serve to control contact means instead of serving itself as a contact. |
