The device (10) has a display-article comprising interaction elements (54, 56, 58) and a tower-side communication element (51), and a base unit (40) comprising a base-side communication element (41). The interaction elements are controlled by a base-side communication element. The tower-side communication element transmits a coded description (55) of parameters of the interaction elements to the base unit. The base unit is configured and/or adapted based on the transmitted coded description of the parameters of the interaction elements for controlling the interaction elements.
