<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of continuing output from a device for image composition, even if some error occurs in the device. <P>SOLUTION: In an image processing device, a first image input unit 101 inputs a first image. A second image input unit 102 inputs a second image while generating a first error signal when an error occurs in its own operation. An image composition unit 103 combines a second image onto the first image to generate one composite image, while generating a second error signal when an error occurs in its own operation. An image output unit 105 outputs an output image per line. At that time, the image output unit 105 sequentially outputs each line forming the composite image as each line of the output image in a period in which no first error signal or second error signal is generated.
