[Also in Group XXVIII] An agricultural appliance comprises a hoe 45 removably attached to a shaft 25 which is reciprocated within a tubular member 33 and is driven through a Scotch crank and belt and pulley gearing 27 from a motor 22 formed integral with a handle 21. The appliance is provided with a wheel carrying bracket 32 mounted on the member 33. The hoe may be replaced by a V-shaped cultivator blade or a draw hoe. A reciprocating pump (see Group XXVIII) may also be fitted for crop spraying or dusting. A reciprocating grass cutter for use with the appliance comprises a fixed cutter bar and a movable cutter bar provided with a toothed rack reciprocated by means of a toothed segment driven by means of the shaft 25. A grass edging tool comprises a movable blade operated by the shaft 25 and pivoted in one of a pair of plates provided with ground engaging rollers.
