PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antistatic agent for a polycarbonate resin that imparts antistatic performances superior in retention of antistatic effects and wiping-off resistance. SOLUTION: The antistatic agent for a polycarbonate resin comprises a compound represented by general formula (1). In formula (1), R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a hydrocarbon group; A is a 2-4C alkylene group; X is a phosphonium ion; m is a numerical value of at least 1; n is a numerical value of at least 2; and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">5</SP>are each independently a 1-18C alkyl group.
