The present invention relates to a silicon nanosheet having a layered structure substantially similar to clay, a manufacturing method thereof, an anode for a lithium ion battery including the silicon nanosheet, and a lithium ion battery including the anode for a lithium ion battery. According to the present invention, the manufacturing method of the silicon nanosheet includes a step of reducing silica, contained in clay, to the silicon nanosheet by treating a mixture containing the clay and alkaline earth metal with heat.
