PURPOSE: A media player device and wake up method are provided to effectively use contact locations which are connected to an external apparatus by receiving a wakeup signal. CONSTITUTION: A power unit(110) outputs a main power or a standby power. An interface unit(140) senses the connection between contact locations and an external apparatus. When the external apparatus is connected, a control unit(120) executes a media player device by controlling the power unit. The contact locations include a first pair contact location group which transmits first data and a second pair contact location group which transmits second data. The interface unit confirms the connection of the external apparatus through the first pair contact location group. |
