The purpose of the present invention is to provide a mobile information terminal which makes it possible to predetermine that there is an insufficient balance of credit used for payment processing while power consumption is also reduced. A location information reception unit (16) receives location information with respect to a current location by means of wireless communication, and a movement speed estimation unit (12) obtains a movement speed on the basis of the detection result of an acceleration sensor (11). In addition, a movement speed comparison unit (13) compares said movement speed with a threshold value. Furthermore, a passenger fare calculation unit (18) calculates the passenger fare up to the current location on the basis of the comparison result of the movement speed comparison unit (13), and a fare comparison unit (19) compares the passenger fare with a credit balance. With this kind of configuration it is possible to determine that the credit balance after subtracting the passenger fare is low before arrival at a short-range communication device at the point of arrival, and also to reduce the power consumed due to the calculation of the passenger fare compared to when the passenger fare is calculated and compared with a threshold value at fixed time intervals. |
