A transfer tray has a cavity configured to accommodate a distal part of a bracket, facilitating removal of the transfer tray from a patient and making it less likely to break off a bracket. The brackets to be positioned onto the patients teeth are fitted into the cavities within the transfer tray. A positive tooth model comprises a mock bracket comprising a fully formed distal part of a bracket and a place holder replacing a proximal part of the mock bracket and which extends to a portion of the model representing the gum. A method of indirect positioning of orthodontic brackets is described, in which a positive tooth model comprises a mock bracket and/or a transfer tray for accommodating and transferring a bracket onto a tooth of a patient. |
