Expanded graphite oxide and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to offer usability of an ionic polymer as a compound which is inserted into an interlayer of the expanded graphite, and to expand gap of layers. Expanded graphite oxide has layered structure and an ionic polymer is inserted into a layer of the expanded graphite oxide. The thermal decomposition temperature of the ionic polymer is 400‹C or greater. The polymer is one or more selected from a group consisting of sodium polystyrene sulfonate, potassium polystyrene sulfonate and lithium polystyrene sulfonate. The interlayer distance of the expanded graphite oxide is 0.8nm or greater. A manufacturing method of the expanded graphite oxide includes a step for preparing oxidation graphite by oxidizing raw material graphite, and a step for contacting the oxidation graphite and the ionic polymer. |
