Process and apparatus for the continuous production of yarn spun from cuprammonium solution of cellulose according to the funnel spinning method

Regenerated cellulose yarns spun from cuprammonium solutions by the funnel method are arranged immediately after spinning in warp formation and are drawn through the washing baths in this arrangement by a traction device placed after the washing baths; they are then treated in a substantially unstressed state with impregnants, excess impregnant is removed and the yarns are fed under at most a moderate tension to a drying device. As shown in Fig. 1, the warp of yarns 1 is drawn through a washing bath 2 by a traction mechanism comprising rollers 3, 4, 5 mounted on an impregnating bath 7. Excess impregnant is removed by a suction device 21A and the warp passes through a drying chamber 6 to a take-up device operating at the same peripheral speed as the traction mechanism. The rollers 3, 4, 5 are positively driven and the roller 4 may be tilted about the axis of roller 3. Each yarn passes through a groove in the suction device 21A, as shown in Fig. 4. The impregnant may be an oil, fat, size, synthetic resin or matting agent.
