Provided are a vacuum insulator, which includes a vacuum insulator core material having 34-59.9 w% of silica, 39-57 w% of inorganic powder, and 1-7 w% of reinforced fiber, wherein the inorganic powder is made of diatomite with the SiO2 content more than 93% and AI2O3 content less than 2% as well as a covering surrounding the core material with the inside of the covering decompressed and sealed. The present invention also relates to the method for manufacturing the vacuum insulator, which includes a step of manufacturing a vacuum insulator core material, a step in which a mixture is formed by mixing 34-59.9 w% of silica, 39-57 w% of inorganic powder, and 1-7 w% of reinforced fiber, and then is compressed and molten, wherein the inorganic powder is made of diatomite with the SiO2 content more than 93% and AI2O3 content less than 2%; a step of covering the core material with a covering; and a step of decompressing and sealing the inside of the covering. According to an embodiment of the present invention, it is possible to achieve excellent insulation performance and significantly reduce manufacturing costs by maintaining the low thermal conductivity of the vacuum insulator while increasing the efficiency of the manufacturing process by improving the treatment and workability in processing the core material. |
