1. A method comprising:
providing, by a device, a first relative spacing between adjacent indices, provided on an index bar, corresponding to indexed portions, provided at a second relative spacing, in a document; receiving, via a display of the device, a selection of a graphical representation of one of the indexed portions of the document corresponding to one of the adjacent indices: changing, responsive to the selection, the second relative spacing of the indexed portions to create a third relative spacing of the indexed portions; scaling, based on the third relative spacing of the indexed portions, the first relative spacing between the adjacent indices to create a fourth relative spacing between the adjacent indices; determining a first location of an index button, in the index bar, with respect to the one of the adjacent indices; identifying the selected indexed portion based on the determined first location of the index button; and displaying, based on the identifying, the graphical representation of the selected indexed portion using the third relative spacing in the document, and the corresponding adjacent indices using the fourth relative spacing on the index bar.
