A box for flush mounting a switch or like lomponent in an opening in a hollow wall 3, comprises two U-shaped sheet metal members o, 2 inserted successively into the opening and held in place by bent out tongues 1b, 2b which engage behind the front of the wall under the resilience of the box sides 1a, 2a. Extensions 1d, 2d between the tongues serve to centre the box, and the members 1, 2 may be held together by an earthing screw 5. Lugs 1e may be provided on the sides 1a for supporting the switch and the cover-plate may be supported by lugs 1f, 2f. In a modification (not shown) a single member formed from a cruciform-shaped blank replaces the members 1, 2. |
