Disclosed are a mobile terminal having an near field communications (NFC) function and a card emulation (CE) mode operation method for the same. The mobile terminal having an NFC function according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an NFC unit communicating with an NFC reader; a storage unit in which a specific area on which an NFC tag to be transmitted to the NFC reader can be loaded is defined and a plurality of NFC tags can be stored; and an operating unit loading one NFC tag among the NFC tags stored in the storage unit on the specific area so that the NFC tag loaded on the specific area is transmitted through the NFC unit, when the NFC unit detects a magnetic field from the NFC reader.
