an analyte; a first probe bonded to the analyte; a first initiator bonded to the first probe; a first polymer bonded to the first initiator, wherein the first initiator is present between the first probe and the first polymer; a second probe bonded to the analyte, wherein the second probe is chemically distinct from the first probe; and a second initiator bonded to the second probe; a second polymer bonded to the second initiator, wherein the second initiator is present between the second probe and the second polymer; wherein the first polymer and the second polymer comprise a plurality of signal generators, wherein the first polymer and the second polymer comprise structural units derived from a polymer precursor comprising an atom transfer radical polymerization monomer, a ring opening metathesis polymerization monomer, or combinations thereof. |
