The present invention relates to a touch sensing apparatus and a touch sensing method. More particularly, the present invention relates to an apparatus which has a resistor in at touch panel and senses a touch by an object and a method thereof. A touch sensing apparatus according to the present invention includes a plurality of capacitive sensing electrodes and a touch panel connecting a plurality of sourcing electrodes and the plurality of capacitive sensing electrodes; a first selecting unit for selectively applying a reference signal to the sourcing electrodes of the touch panel in response to a first control signal; a second selecting unit for selectively outputting a comparison signal through the capacitive sensing electrodes in response to a second control signal; and a control unit for outputting the first and second control signals.
