LOW-COST MULTI-CAMERA SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD

The present invention relates to a technology of establishing a security or safety monitoring system using multiple cameras and, more particularly, to a security system establishing technology capable of achieving a relatively high security level at low costs by organically utilizing low-cost/low resolution cameras. Such a security system may be advantageously used in small companies, general homes, or the like. A camera (scanning camera) divides a monitoring region into unit regions, and scans the monitoring region to capture unit images of the unit regions, and determines whether the monitoring region is abnormal. When the monitoring region is discovered to be abnormal, another camera (pointing camera) precisely and continuously monitors an interested region involving the abnormality.
