A wavelength tunable laser device, comprising: a wavelength tunable laser; a temperature detecting element; and a controller, wherein the wavelength tunable laser comprises: a laser resonator comprising: a light source; andwavelength tunable mechanisms; andat least one light loss control unit, the light loss control unit comprises at least one of an absorption region and a light reflectance variable mirror, the absorption region is capable of controlling a light absorption loss of the laser resonator, the light reflectance variable mirror is capable of controlling a light reflectance at a light emitting end surface of the laser resonator, the light loss control parameter for controlling the absorption region is an absorption region control parameter, the light loss control parameter for controlling the light reflectance variable mirror is a light reflectance variable mirror control parameter, the temperature detecting element is thermally connected to the wavelength tunable laser and is electrically connected to the controller, the controller is electrically connected to the wavelength tunable mechanisms and the light loss control unit, the temperature detecting element detects a temperature of the wavelength tunable laser, and the controller obtains temperature information of the wavelength tunable laser from the temperature detecting element, calculates wavelength tunable control parameters and light loss control parameters based on the temperature information, controls the wavelength tunable mechanisms based on the wavelength tunable control parameters, and controls the light loss control unit based on the light loss control parameter.
