The present invention relates to a semiconductor memory device which controls memory blocks. A semiconductor memory device provided in the present invention includes a plurality of memory blocks for storing data, and a memory controller including an operation of copying a first memory block among the memory blocks to a second memory block, an operation of pausing the operation of copying, and an operation of resuming the operation of copying in order to control the memory blocks.
