A tile having humidity-sensing and humidity-controlling functions is provided to sense humidity by changing color according to the surrounding humidity, and to control humidity by absorbing or releasing moisture according to the amount of humidity. A tile(10) having humidity-sensing and humidity-controlling functions is obtained by forming a humidity recognition layer(12) on the surface of a porous plate-like base material layer(11). The humidity recognition layer comprises a humidity recognition material which changes color by absorbing moistures from the air and consists of a cobalt compound, an iron compound, an organic dye, or a compound combined with an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal. A resin layer is interposed between the humidity recognition layer and a base material layer. Further, the cobalt compound is cobalt chloride and a balance layer additionally is laminated inside the base material layer. |
