The present invention relates to a composition for alleviating neuropathic pain comprising a lipocalin 2 (LCN2) inhibitor as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the composition significantly increases expression of LCN2 in an area related to a neuron damaged by SNI that is a peripheral nerve damage experiment model, and significantly increases pain-associated chemokine in cerebral cortex cells and the spinal cord, increases a response to pain, and reduces a response to pain in mice lacking LCN2, when an LCN2 recombinant protein is given. Therefore, the LCN2 inhibitor can be effectively used as a neuropathic pain reliever by determining that neuropathic pain can be alleviated when the LCN2 is suppressed.
