摘要 The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a metal oxide-coated cathode active material, a metal oxide-coated cathode active material manufactured thereby, an electrode for a lithium secondary battery and a lithium secondary battery including the same. The method for manufacturing a metal oxide-coated cathode active material according to the present invention comprises the steps of mixing a solvent, metal alkoxide and a coupling agent (mixing step, S1); inputting a cathode active material into the mixture solution (input step, S2); separating the cathode active material from the mixture solution (separation step, S3); and obtaining an metal oxide-coated cathode active material by heat-treating the separated cathode active material (heat-treatment step, S4). According to the present invention, the dispersibility of the cathode active material can be improved by coating the surface of a cathode active material having three or more components or a cathode active material based on olivine with metal oxide using a sol-gel method, and the life span of a battery can be increased by inhibiting surface side reactions such as electrolyte decomposition on the surface of the cathode active material.
